Fantastic Lifestyle Changing Opportunities on the Beautiful Isle of Arran

New and Exciting Nurse Practitioner Roles – Band 6

Often described as Scotland in miniature, the beautiful Isle of Arran is situated in the Firth of Clyde, close to the central belt. It is an island of spectacular scenery and wildlife with a wealth of activities available. Arran is a vibrant community of around 5000 people and a favourite holiday and visitor destination.

The regular Brodick – Ardrossan ferry takes under an hour to reach the mainland, where a direct train link means Glasgow city centre is just 45 minutes away. This post is an opportunity to combine a wonderful lifestyle with an exciting and evolving role.

We are looking for registered nurses with experience of Emergency Department or Community Hospital services who are looking to develop their careers in a new nurse practitioner Band 6 role.

This is an exciting opportunity to help develop the Emergency Department and urgent care model on Arran. This new role is within the single nursing team on the Isle of Arran providing person centred care at the highest level and is primarily based at Arran War Memorial Community Hospital. This is a 7 day service and will include contributing to the weekend rota.

The development of integrated ways of working between all health and social care teams features highly on the island, including the aspiration of a flexible single nursing team working across community, community hospital and general practice settings. This will allow for interesting and varied work including support to the inpatient service at the community hospital and the community nursing team on the island.

There will be ongoing opportunities for team based learning on the island and with support from the mainland Ayrshire based clinical team.

We’d love to share the wonderful work that we doing on Arran with you so if you would like to find out more about the job or the amazing island life then please contact Ailsa Weir – Senior Charge Nurse in the first instance by calling 01770 600 777 or emailing ailsa.weir@aapct.scot.nhs.uk
